Clime Capital and Nami Distributed Energy (Nami) disclosed on July 9 their partnership with SEACEF II, bringing in a $10 million investment. Nami, with offices in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, specializes in cutting-edge distributed energy solutions with a focus on enhancing Vietnamese businesses.
The investment is in line with Vietnam’s recent Decree 80/2024/ND-CP, introducing a direct power purchase agreement (DPPA) system between renewable energy producers and significant electricity consumers. This decree opens up substantial opportunities for businesses to tap into cost-effective renewable energy via both direct lines and grid-connected distributed electricity.
Nami is well-equipped to utilize its robust human resources, expertise, and expanding project portfolio to deliver large-scale rooftop solar and on-site energy solutions to various commercial and industrial clients across the country.
Mr. Luu Hoang Ha, Chairman of Nami, emphasized that the company’s solar and on-site energy solutions, which include battery storage and energy efficiency, enable businesses to access sustainable and cost-effective electricity without upfront capital investment and operational costs. Nami is rapidly growing its list of potential projects with key clients and implementing installations nationwide.
“This investment and our rapidly expanding project portfolio position Nami well for the upcoming funding round and sustained growth. We are prepared to collaborate with Clime Capital and other partners to drive positive impacts for our clients and the environment,” said Mr. Ha.
Mr. Mason Wallick, Managing Director of Clime Capital, highlighted that this substantial investment offers a twofold advantage: fostering competitive renewable energy infrastructure and supporting Vietnam’s objective of carbon neutrality by 2050.
Nami Distributed Energy, a subsidiary of Nami Energy, was established by local investors with extensive experience in Vietnam’s energy sector. The company’s range of solar and on-site energy solutions, including battery storage and energy efficiency, empowers businesses with inexpensive, sustainable electricity devoid of capital investment and operating expenses. Nami is swiftly expanding its list of potential projects with major clients and rolling out installations nationwide.
Clime Capital, headquartered in Singapore, manages SEACEF II and concentrates on expediting the shift towards low-carbon energy.
