Ali Modu Sheriff, the former governor of Borno State, visited the immediate past president, Muhammadu Buhari at his residence in Daura, Katsina State on Monday.
Sheriff is among the politicians who have recently visited Buhari. His visit follows former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s visit with PDP chieftains and former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai’s visit.
Shehu Sani, the former senator representing Kaduna Central district, commented that the recent meetings of Northern politicians with Buhari are seen as a strategic move to potentially oust President Bola Tinubu in 2027. However, Sani predicts that this effort to unite Northern political forces for the upcoming elections will not succeed.
