Suspicious Ammunition Transporter Arrested in Zamfara
In Zamfara State, Zayyanu Abdullahi, a 29-year-old man suspected of being an ammunition courier, has been detained by local law enforcement.
The arrest took place on October 13, 2024, along the Anka-Bagega road, where he was allegedly moving ammunition.
This operation was conducted by military personnel in partnership with the Zamfara State Community Protection Guards (ZSCPG), responding to alerts from community members about unusual activities in the area.
Abdullahi, originally from Shinkafi Local Government Area, was caught at a temporary checkpoint established by the security forces.
Upon inspection, authorities discovered 35 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition hidden in a wrapper.
Initial inquiries suggest that he intended to deliver the ammunition to someone named Wadata in Bagega town.
The suspect has been taken into custody as efforts continue to locate Wadata and anyone else who may be involved.
