Eligibility Requirements
Soldiers
- Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years old, with applications open from 15 years and 7 months. Assessment can begin at 15 years and 9 months.
- Individuals under 17 years and 6 months will undergo training at the Army Foundation College before commencing standard entry training for Junior Soldiers.
- Enlistment must occur before reaching 36 years of age.
Officers
- Candidates should fall within the age bracket of 18 to 29 years, with exceptions for specialist roles like doctors where higher age limits apply.
- Specific educational qualifications are necessary, including ALIS points and UCAS Tariff points from various subjects.
Fitness and Well-being Standards
Each applicant is required to pass a series of fitness assessments and adhere to certain lifestyle requirements to maintain the necessary fitness levels and a healthy living standard.

Rehabilitative Approach to Criminal Convictions

Joining the Army Cadet Force
