Anyim Pius Anyim, former Senate President, made headlines when he joined the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC). He was welcomed by President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja along with Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State and Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State.
Anyim, a notable political figure and a presidential aspirant from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 elections, cited his desire to contribute to national stability during challenging times as his motivation for switching parties.
In a press briefing, Anyim emphasized his commitment to ensuring the country’s progress, stating that his aim is to create an environment conducive to advancement rather than seeking employment opportunities.
Discussing his move to the APC, Anyim expressed his belief that all patriots should strive to promote peace and progress in the country, especially during turbulent times.
