Nigerian gospel artist, Mercy Chinwo, has leveled serious accusations against her ex-manager, Ezekiel ThankGod, also known as Eezeetee.
She claims he is responsible for spreading false paternity rumors regarding her infant son and has also subjected her to bullying.
Mercy and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, celebrated the birth of their first child, a son, on October 28, 2023. Shortly after, speculation emerged suggesting that another gospel singer, Nathaniel Bassey, was the child’s biological father.
In a heartfelt video shared on social media, Mercy alleged that Ezekiel orchestrated these rumors. She expressed her frustration, stating, “My greatest offense was collaborating on a song with Pastor Nathaniel Bassey. Because of your dislike for him, you went to the extent of spreading lies about my son and funding bloggers to do so.”
She added, “Your anger towards Pastor Jerry Eze meant I couldn’t attend his events. You expect me to share your grievances, and when I question your dislike for them, you resort to harassment.”
Mercy reiterated concerns previously voiced by her attorney, Pelumi Olajengbesi, in a statement from January 25.
She clarified that she has not initiated any legal action against Ezekiel over her music rights and accused him of pretending to be the victim while being a “bully.”
The singer mentioned that the toxic nature of her relationship with Ezekiel compelled her to move from Port Harcourt to Lagos.
“You have bloggers on your side, but I have God,” Mercy declared, expressing confidence that everything would turn out well despite the challenges.
