Naira Projected to Plummet to N1,804 Against the Dollar by 2025 – Study Reveals

A recent analysis indicates that the Nigerian Naira is expected to fall to a fair value of N1,804 per dollar in the official market by 2025.

This insight comes from an Afrinvest report entitled ‘Beyond The Rhetorics: Transforming Reforms to Tangibles’.

The report suggests that the Central Bank of Nigeria might struggle to keep up with foreign exchange demands in the near future, which will likely result in increased FX volatility.

“We believe that while currency fluctuations will continue in 2025, the pace will be relatively moderate.

The findings indicate that the CBN may face ongoing challenges in consistently meeting market requirements, as recent increases in foreign exchange reserves were largely influenced by temporary inflows with strict usability conditions,” the report noted.

This forecast contrasts with the N1,500 per dollar rate outlined in the 2025 budget proposal submitted to the National Assembly.
