Nigerian gospel artist Dare Melody recently shared his experiences regarding the difficulties his late wife, Adedoyin, faced due to his family’s actions.
Adedoyin passed away in October at the age of 47.
In a video that has gained widespread attention, Melody recounted how, despite the challenges posed by his relatives, he consistently reassured his wife to remain calm.
He acknowledged Adedoyin’s steadfast support during tumultuous times in his career, particularly when a music promoter had him sidelined for nearly four years.
To express his appreciation for her dedication, he constructed a house for her.
He remarked, “My family put pressure on Adedoyin. I would hold her close and say, ‘Adedoyin, remember that I am your husband, and you should feel secure whenever you’re with me.’ She stood by my side, regardless of our struggles.
“I recall a specific incident when a promoter wronged me, preventing my songs from being aired or printed for almost four years. In those tough times, my wife remained my pillar of strength.
“When the New Year came, the three of us shared biscuits together – just her, our one-year-old daughter, and me. I prayed to God, asking him to affirm my calling as a musician. He assured me that I would release a record in 2010, which turned out to be ‘Goodness and Mercy.’
“That song revitalized my career and garnered me recognition. Following that, I began my journey towards building a home. A friend suggested we build a house for the woman who stood by me through it all, and I responded, ‘Everything I own is for her.’”
