Bashir Ahmad, a former aide to ex-president, Muhammadu Buhari, disclosed the reasons for Buhari’s non-attendance at the burial ceremony of Hajiya Dada, the mother of the late former President, Umar Musa Yar’adua.
Ahmad clarified that Buhari was not present at the funeral due to his current absence from the country.
He addressed rumors suggesting Buhari’s intentional absence and emphasized that Hajiya Dada was the mother of Buhari’s close friend and schoolmate, the late General Shehu Musa Yar’adua.
Ahmad mentioned that Buhari had conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family.
Recent reports confirmed the passing of Hajiya Dada at the age of 102 in the Katsina Teaching Hospital on Monday.
Hajiya Dada, renowned for her strong personality and influence on her son’s life and career, was the mother of Umaru Musa Yar’adua, who served as Nigeria’s President from 2007 until his demise in 2010.
She was also the mother of late Shehu Musa Yar’adua and Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, the current head of the Senate Committee on Army.
