Sen Kashim Shettima, the Vice President, expressed that President Bola Tinubu has the best interests of Northerners in mind. During a visit in Kano on June 26, Shettima spoke highly of Tinubu’s efforts towards the region. He mentioned the appointment of key figures from the North, like the Ministers of Defence and the Chief of Defence Staff, as a demonstration of the president’s commitment to the region’s progress.
Shettima called on Nigerians to back Tinubu’s endeavors for the country’s advancement, stressing that good governance goes beyond political boundaries. He emphasized the importance of national unity and development over political affiliations.
Highlighting the support he received from the Kano State Government, led by Governor Abba Yusuf of the NNPP, during a personal loss, Shettima underscored the shift towards governance over politics in the country. He urged for a joint effort towards national excellence, emphasizing that political differences should not lead to division.
The Vice President appealed for unity and collaboration among all political parties, emphasizing that the responsibility of ensuring Nigeria’s success is a shared one.
