A Controversial Legal Statement
A lawyer from Nigeria, named Stella, recently made a bold claim regarding the legality of monetary exchanges between men and women for sexual activities. She asserts that it is illegal for a man to financially compensate a woman for sex.
In her post on Facebook, she emphasized that such actions are punishable by law, with the potential penalty being up to two years in prison. She cited the relevant section of the Criminal Code in her remarks.
“It is illegal for a man to compensate a woman for sex. It’s classified as procurement, and it could result in a two-year prison sentence. Refer to SECTION 223 CRIMINAL CODE,” she conveyed on Monday.
