Nigerian activist Martins Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, has addressed the issue regarding the supposed missing N180 million from his NGO account in a recent Instagram video.
During his visit to Zenith Bank, he obtained his bank statement and shared it publicly.
He posted a video showing his time at the bank, where he also received a festive gift hamper from Zenith Bank.
VeryDarkMan explained that the bank statement he retrieved was from December 15 to December 30 and comprised over 2,000 pages, promising to make the electronic version available to the public.
He highlighted that the opening balance of the account was N239 million, with total debits of just N39,000. The credits during the same period amounted to N1.9 million, resulting in a closing balance of N240 million.
He noted that the debits mainly resulted from electronic money transfer levies imposed by the Federal Government of Nigeria. VeryDarkMan firmly stated that there were no questionable transactions and that the balance of the account remained stable.
He reiterated his commitment to transparency, assuring that his account number has not changed and that he would share the electronic statement soon. He touted his integrity as a citizen of Nigeria.
In the video, he took a jab at his detractors, calling them “mumu” for doubting his honesty. VeryDarkMan expressed trust in Zenith Bank, stating that his funds are securely held there.
Accompanying the video, he proclaimed his integrity, claiming, “Here is the statement of account….Nobody in this country can brag with the integrity I brag with, I AM THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN DO THIS….. VDM no get mate….i challenge any NGO TO DO THIS”
