Mauricio Pochettino begins his journey as the head coach of the USMNT, with significant attention on his inaugural starting lineup.

Despite the absence of several key players, the team is prepared for a fresh start against Panama on Saturday, October 12, following their disappointing Copa America performance this summer.

While Tim Weah, Tyler Adams, and Chris Richards won’t be joining, Christian Pulisic stands out as the team’s key player, showcasing fantastic form with AC Milan as he steps back into international play.

Stay updated on the team’s latest news and expected lineups below.

Lineups and Team Insights: USA vs. Panama

USA Team Updates

The USMNT has several regular players unavailable for this October international window, posing a challenge for Pochettino. Sergino Dest is still healing from an ACL injury sustained before summer, and Tyler Adams‘ back injury keeps him sidelined for now.

Chris Richards is out due to a hamstring injury that occurred right before the roster announcement. Additionally, Gio Reyna remains unavailable after a muscle injury from last month’s training, and Cameron Carter-Vickers has a minor injury just before the break.

Tim Weah has also pulled out, as he isn’t sufficiently recovered from a hamstring issue. Folarin Balogun and Johnny Cardoso were also removed from the squad due to new injuries, with Balogun dislocating his shoulder shortly before the camp began.
