Karen Igho, the Big Brother Africa champion from 2011, has reached out to the public for help as she faces homelessness.
The former actress recently announced her divorce from her husband, Yaroslav Rakos, citing abuse and claims that he is trying to take custody of their children by suggesting she is mentally unstable.
She revealed that he moved her to another country and left her without support, resulting in her current situation of being without a home.
Later that day, however, Karen expressed gratitude towards her husband on social media and indicated a desire to co-parent amicably, but those posts have since been removed.
She also shared her ambition to become a nurse, posting a video in nursing attire, but fellow reality stars raised concerns about the authenticity of her social media posts after her earlier appeal for assistance.
Karen has now posted a new video showing her living in a homeless shelter, where she is seeking contributions to her GoFundMe campaign.
She gained fame after winning Big Brother Africa in 2011, becoming the first female winner from Nigeria. Karen married Yaroslav in 2014, and they have two children born in 2015 and 2017.
Originating from Delta State, she had previously participated in the reality show The Next Movie Star in 2009 and made her acting debut in the renowned series “Tinsel.” Additionally, she appeared in films like “Blackberry Babes Reloaded” and hosted a program called “Wetin dey” on Naija FM with presenter Ifektive.
