Police Crack Down on Drug Activities in Vietnam
Authorities conducted a search at an apartment in Thu Duc city where they discovered Aybar, known in Vietnam as Nguyen Thi An (nicknamed An Tay), along with several individuals believed to be involved in drug activities. Subsequent drug testing showed that the 29-year-old model tested positive for narcotics.
In a related action in Tan Binh district, law enforcement arrested Hieu, who is also recognized as the singer Chi Dan, along with Tiktoker Truc Phuong, both facing similar accusations.
These arrests are part of an extensive investigation into a significant international drug trafficking operation linking France and Vietnam through air routes.
To date, nearly 500 drug rings have been dismantled, resulting in the prosecution of 1,132 people. Authorities have confiscated approximately 323.5 kilograms of drugs, in addition to various weapons and other related items, with the illegal drug trade valued at over 28 trillion VND (more than 1.1 billion USD)./.
