The Edo State Police have taken into custody a man named Theophilus Osazuwa, who is suspected of killing his four-year-old son, Testimony Osazuwa.
According to the police spokesperson, SP Moses Joel Yamu, the incident occurred on December 24 when the suspect returned home to Ogbeson quarters off Benin-Agbor road. Shortly after arriving, he became uncontrollable and shouted “Holy Host fire.”
It was reported that after using illegal drugs, Osazuwa attacked his son by throwing him against a wall.
“The child was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately did not survive. Initial investigations indicate that the suspect has a history of drug abuse and likely acted under this influence,” Yamu said.
In response to this tragic event, Commissioner of Police CP Umoru P. Ozigi urged the public, particularly young people, to be cautious of the serious risks posed by illegal drugs, which can harm both their health and their loved ones.
