The founder of Believers Love World, popularly known as Christ Embassy, has stated that it is not right for the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to go to war with Niger Republic without finding out if its citizens truly want the military to rule them.

Recall that ECOWAS had issued an ultimatum to Niger’s new military leaders to stand down within the week or potentially face military intervention.

Pastor Chris, as he is popularly called, during Sunday service maintained that the ECOWAS should find out what the people of Niger want rather than going to war with them.

The clergyman said the people of Niger should be allowed to do what they want, as they firmly had refused the government of President Mohamed Bazoum which was allegedly imposed on them.

He further stressed that whatever choice they want to make should be up to them as the country is a sovereign nation.

He said: “The government was imposed on them, they don’t agree they voted for the government, if that is the case, then what the Nigeriens wants should be up to them.

“It is not right that other countries should go to war with Niger without finding out what the people wants. They too are a sovereign nation and our job will be to praying for them that they have peace.  Whatever government they want to have is up to them, whatever choice they want to make, its up to them.”

The clergyman further prayed against the demons of war hovering over Africa, proclaiming peace on the continent.
