President Bola Tinubu
President Bola Tinubu has confirmed the appointment of 11 directors from a group of 19 who qualified through the written exams for permanent secretaries. This was announced in a memo issued by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.
Earlier in October, it was noted that the Federal Government started the process to fill vacancies for permanent secretaries in eight states. A memo dated October 7, 2024, from the Head of Civil Service, Didi Walson-Jack, indicated that those undergoing disciplinary procedures were ineligible to apply for these positions.
The recent communication, signed by Dr. Emmanuel Meribole on behalf of the examination committee, stated, “The under-listed eleven (11) candidates are invited to the oral interview stage of the process for the appointment of Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service, following their successful performance in Stages I and II of the exercise.”
A total of 38 directors took part in the first round, out of which 19 moved on, and 11 succeeded in reaching the oral interview stage.
President Tinubu is expected to announce the new permanent secretaries once the recruitment process is concluded.
