Former federal lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has reacted to insults and attacks directed at the Archbishop Emeritus of Abuja Catholic Archdiocese, John Cardinal Onaiyekan by chieftains of the All Progressives Congress.
Recall that the clergy had, in a television interview on Thursday, spoken on the just concluded presidential election, saying the outcome of the poll was manipulated and those who rigged it know themselves.
Onaiyekan also expressed dissatisfaction on the delay by the election tribunal to decide on the petitions filed against the President-elect, Bola Tinubu.
He said swearing in Tinubu while the petitions are still pending in court does not make sense.
This has continued to generate controversies, particularly from the camp of the president-elect.
A chieftain of the APC, Femi Fani-Kayode, tackled the clergy, saying, “Those that are filled with bitterness, hate, envy, fury and rage and that seek to pursue us into the Red Sea as we make our way to the Promise Land shall be drowned by it”.
Similarly, in a statement on his Twitter handle, Minister of State for Labour, Festus Keyamo, knocked the man of God, stressing that “The embarrassment to the Body of Christ is getting too much”.
